This specialization focuses on the artistic and scientific areas of the performing arts and the study of performance, aiming to develop students’ previously acquired knowledge and experience, both through the various branches of the Theatre bachelor’s degree in ESTC, and other contexts of artistic education and professional activity.
The specialization in Performing Arts highlights the development of specific stage projects by its students, so as to progressively promote autonomy, all the while ensuring constant monitoring and supervision by the professors of the nuclear curricular units.
This specialization includes a wide variety of areas of interest which make up the contemporary performative languages: for example, new challenges facing the actor in our current age; issues connected to body and movement; the importance of voice, music and singing in performing arts; as well as practices and issues related to scene writing.
These areas of interest are tackled within a theoretical-practical perspective with a strong emphasis on a laboratorial approach, which articulates artistic research with artistic creation in the context of second cycle higher education.
