The City Hall of Sintra and the Chão de Oliva-Centro de Difusion Cultural in Sintra promote and biennially perform the Prize National of Arts Maria João Fontaínhas, whose aim is to publicize and prestigious the arts of the spectacle in Portugal and the emergence of new creators aimed at galardoning a project for a spectacle of theatre, dance, puppetry, music or transversal to these areas.

In 2022 we are pleased to promote and carry out its present edition, convinced that it is an award that promotes Sintra as a place of culture and promotes artistic creation in its different expressions..
